Matan Peled, Rabbi
We welcome Rabbi Matan Peled to our TBJ family, as he will lead Friday evening Shabbat services and become our Education Director for our Shul.
A native Israeli, Rabbi Peled had a variety of experiences before coming to the United States, including working with Arab and Israeli children in a therapeutic zoo, and serving as a Combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces. Rabbi Peled has extensive experience in Jewish Education and congregational life and has served Synagogues in Florida and Pennsylvania over the past 13 years both in Educational and Rabbinical capacities. Rabbi Peled has a BA in Jewish Studies and earned his Rabbinic ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. When he moved to the United States, he fell in love with and married Cantor Jennifer Duretz Peled after meeting at a Jewish summer camp in the mountains of Georgia. After their marriage, he became a citizen of the United States.
” In Pirke Avot 1:15, Shammai says: “Make your Torah study a permanent fixture of your life. Say little and do much. And receive every man with a pleasant countenance.” I believe that we were all created ”
“In the image of GOD,” and as such we should strive to make this world into a better place for all to live in. We should do so through honesty, respect, love and understanding for our fellow human beings, our world and ourselves.
